Press ReleaseTickets are now on sale for Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. playing at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette starting on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The Lake Superior Youth Theatre cast contains approximately 90 youth ages 4 to 18 led by Director, Nikke Nason.
“While this production stays true to both the movie and Broadway production, we’re also adding some technical elements utilizing the strengths of our local gymnasts and Ariel Artists. The youth involved in the cast and crew have a large variety and high skill level of talents and this is a show that allows us to utilize all of those talents”, said Director Nikke Nason. This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice. Featuring favorite songs such as “Under the Sea”, “Part of Your World”, and “Kiss The Girl” this show is sure to be a treat for the entire family.
